Very little is actually known about these cards, though there are some beliefs. It is thought that the Tewaaraton Foundation produces cards of the five male and female finalists each year, though what year these cards were first issued is unknown. From the known examples, it appears that all cards have nearly identical backs, regardless of the year of issue.
Tewaaraton Award finalist cards have been confirmed for all 40 nominees, men and women, for the years 2016-2019 (inclusive). In all likelihood, these cards were issued in prior years as well.
