Born Mitchell Dye Belisle on November 9, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida.

In high school, Mitch spent two years each at Severna Park in Maryland and Bourne in Massachusetts, earning 8 total letters in lacrosse and ice hockey. He attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, graduating in 2007. In Mitch’s senior year, he won the William C. Schmeisser Award, given to the NCAA DI Most Outstanding Defenseman. He was later named to the Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame. Belisle was drafted by both the New York Titans (NLL) and Los Angeles Riptide (MLL) in 2007. In the NLL, Mitch played two seasons with the Boston Blazers before joining the Minnesota Swarm in 2012. He remained with the Swarm when they moved to Georgia and won the NLL Championship Cup with them in 2017. In the MLL, Belisle went to the Boston Cannons in 2009 when the Riptide folded. He eventually became the Cannons all-time leader in games played (112) before retiring after the 2018 season. Mitch was an MLL All-Star in 2011, 2014 & 2015, and won the MLL Championship with Boston in 2011. He won a silver medal with the United States National Team at the FIL World Championships held in Denver, Colorado in 2014. Belisle is an executive with Trilogy Lacrosse and serves as a color commentator on NLL broadcasts.
