Jamie Ortega Player Collection

Born Jamie Alena Ortega on June 11 in Centereach, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York

As the 2017 Long Island Player of the Year, culminating her career at Centereach High School, Jamie became the New York State all-time leading high school career point scorer with 588 (402 goals – 186 assists).  Ortega then embarked on a prodigious five seasons at North Carolina during which she became a five-time All-American (4 years on the 1^st Team).  During the course of the 2022 season, Jamie broke the ACC career scoring record of 445 points held by Jen Adams of Maryland that had stood for over 20 years. She finished second in NCAA history with 466 career points (a 5.12 ppg average). Jamie scored 334 goals for the Tar Heels while assisting on 132 more.  She was a Tewaaraton Finalist in both 2021 and 2022.  In her final year (2022) at North Carolina, Jamie was part of an incredible NCAA Women’s DI Championship Squad and individually won the Honda Award for Lacrosse as the National Player of the Year.  In 2021, Ortega signed a sponsorship deal with Epoch.  She participated in the second year (2022) of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse until an injury shortened her season.  Jamie still finished with 619 leaderboard points.
