I know we're still pretty far out from the season, but what are everyone's thoughts on taking cards to PLL or NLL games and getting players to sign them? Does that add to or hurt the value of cards?

I have often used duplicate cards from my collection to get signed.  If it is a base card - rather than an insert or limited edition - it really doesn't impact the card's value.  If I removed a one of a kind card from a set to get signed, then the set would be incomplete should I wish to trade or sell it.  I have gotten many Upper Deck and some Parkside cards autographed, but, as I said, only if I had more than one of a given card.  I would hesitate to have an insert or, say, a #/10 Topps PLL card signed.

@jimtom4 Thanks for the insight! I'll definitely keep that in mind!

I've gotten cards signed also. Like Jim said, I make sure I get duplicates signed and I also stick to base cards and not parallels.
